Easy CD-DA Extractor.
It can extract files from your CD in any format, burn CDs, and most importantly, convert any audio format(And I mean ANY. It can convert to stuff I've never even heard of-- Like .ogg) to any other audio format.
It also allows you to compress you audio at variable bitrates, like a good extractor/burner/converter should.
I use it for all my audio stuffage.

There's a 30 day trial period, but when that trial period runs out, if you try and uninstall the program an error occurs allowing you to use it forever... (Atleast on my computer, that happened).

You know, thats your one-size-fits-all solution for everything isnt it? You wrote a fucking good guide, but that doesn't make you god. It seems to be all that ever comes out of your mouth:AbsoluteDestiny wrote:If you can, I'd buy the cds.
"Oh, how do I do this?"
AD Says: "Buy the CD"
"Whats 2+2?"
AD Says: "Buy the CD"
For fucks sake, is that all your vocabulary extends too? Theres only one situation where "Buy The CD" actually applies, and that is in CD vs Downloaded music, where the CD is actually available. It doesn't include things like certain music from movies or games that was never released on CD, things like that.
Try being helpful on the topic for a change, instead of a self-righteous smartass.

You know, it was only a suggestion.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:You know, thats your one-size-fits-all solution for everything isnt it? You wrote a fucking good guide, but that doesn't make you god.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:If you can, I'd buy the cds.
I already instructed on how to convert from wma - it's in the guide. However, it's very much a last hope solution as compressed audio is pretty sucky for editing with, much like compressed video is. It's just advice, people can take it or leave it but if you think I'm not being helpful in suggesting that people use dvds and cds for their sources then we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

CD = Best quality you can get
MP3/WMA = In the end, you'll compress a compressed file

I haven't tried this, because I have the CDs for the music I use anyway (and also I often want to tedit the music, which would almost automatically mean recompression), but: with some container formats (e.g. .mpg) the audio is actually in MP3 format already. Then if you have your soundtrack in an .MP3 file, it should be theoretically possible to put that already-compressed audio into the container without recompressing it. For instance, the mplex tool can do this.Rozard wrote:MP3/WMA = In the end, you'll compress a compressed file
