Berserk: relation of anime, manga, and videogame?
I just finished watching Berserk, totally awesome show. My only exposure to this title previously was a Dreamcast game a couple years back called Guts' Rage. That was a decent game, but totally unrelated to the anime. I'm planning to get the manga now, because the ending of the anime was kind of funky, and I wanna know more. Anyway, those of you who have read/are reading the manga, (potential SPOILER alert!):

Is the Mandragora story of the video game something out of the manga? And does the manga start off the same as the anime, throwing you into the aftermath of the final episode? Exactly how long is the manga run, and is it a worthy buy?

There are several major differances between the manga and anime. Although the theme is the same, the manga does a few things different. The manga starts off like the anime, with Gutts walking around but it differs in the tavern scene, they put a random girl in the anime in the place of Pakk (a fairy) who Gutts saves and Pakk decides to help out Gutts. The manga goes way beyond the anime as far as story. I dont want to give too much away, so if there is anything else you want to know just ask.

Well, I haven't collected manga extensively since college, and even then, the only titles I collected religiously were Shirow graphic novels like Appleseed and GitS, and Blade of the Immortal. What would be the best place on the internet to buy a graphic novel (English), since I don't want to buy individual issues?
And was there any relation between the game and the manga storylines? The manga doesn't have the annoying nekkid fairy?

The naked fairy you speak of is Pakk. And although he is annoying, he is the only reason Gutts is still alive and the reason he still has some of his humanity. I haven't played the game so I dont know what the plot is. If you describe it to me, I can tell you if it is or not.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS
Essentially, the game was about a parasitic plant called Mandragora root. It basically turned people into zombies, and Caska was infected by them, and apparently had been infected for a long time, she acts like she has downs syndrome through the whole game. Guts goes on a quest for this corrupt lord to destroy the Madragora roots, but finds out that the corrupt lord is behind all the zombie attacks and expirimenting with the mandragora roots. I haven't beat the game, so I couldn't tell you how it ends, but that's the gist of it. Sound like a story arc from the manga?

No no no... you are a bit confuzzled.
The video game takes place at some point after the show, during the time Guts and Caska are traveling together alone (with Pakk). Casca was never infected by the mandragorans, she's just mentally ill (Gee, I wonder why). What the corrupt lord offers Guts is a possible cure for her mental illness, developed from the mandragoran heart (but i've said too much already). This story never appears in the manga.

I like bugging people. Deal with it.

I played the game in college and yea, it is repetitive. I got annoyed with it after a while and didn't bother anymore.
But from what I've heard (****spoilers**** sorta)
is that the anime, aside from the differences here and there is told somewhere between the beginning middle of the manga. I've never read the manga so I don't know. But I'm hopin for a 2nd series for the anime.
