BTW I spent a good year and a half with a teacher who was into philosophy and essay questions (daily, hourly in summerschool). So questions like these are now fun for me

"If you believe in yourself, eat all your school, stay on milk, drink your teeth, don't do sleep, and get your eight hours of drugs, you can get WORK!"

They say that many people who were alive at the time can remember exactly what they were doing when they heard the news, to the detail of what clothes they were wearing and the exact actions they were undertaking.
Same with 9-11. It hit many people so hard, the details of the conditions underwhich they heard the news were engraved in their mind.
You could argue many ways, really. For example, why people were hit by the assassinations so strongly. Why someone felt the assassinations were necessary. Etc.

Then help lol! Was it that loyalty was soon dropped right after JFK's death? He was killed because his views changed other people's lives way too much, as were his brother's (Just because he was related to JFK?) I tend to believe that whole conspiracy thing, I saw that movie about it (forget what it is called).

I see where you are going with these ideas, but how do they apply to Gump's statement about brothers? I don't see the connection.Chaos Angel wrote:They say that many people who were alive at the time can remember exactly what they were doing when they heard the news, to the detail of what clothes they were wearing and the exact actions they were undertaking.

Gump just never saw anyone any different from himself, mostly cause of what his 'momma said'. He did know he wasn't as bright as everyone else..though he was a genious in his own way, or at least that was his drill instructer told him. I think he only saw Jenny different from everyone else.

yeah I had a question like that one earlier, one was about the Drill Sargeant and another was about what is considered 'normal'
So you're saying that the human condition is sad because we only see differences rather than what is the same? And we also tend to hate those who have it better than us, or who have better advatages, as well as people who's views different from ours?
