Transformation sequences

Post by Propyro » Sun Oct 05, 2003 1:31 am

I started watching Ragnarok a little while ago, and i'm pretty much 3/4 of the way though, and i've noticed something,

Every time the main character, Loki draws his scepter they ahve to do this annoying transofrmation sequence. Every time ... well ok, not every time ... he managed to do it twice so far with out zooming in and out while dancing about like an idiot.

Man, this almost remeinds me of sailor moon.

Hmm... never seen Ragnarok, but I've noticed similar stuff with Shaman King (and I've only seen nine eps thus far)--everytime Yoh and Amidamaru merge, they show the exact same merging sequence. We don't need to see them merge every single time they do it...

True, the music when Loki changes is pretty cool ... but it gets annoying, exscpeialy when it happens 3 times an episode ... why do they insist on showing us the transformation/materialzation sequences so much?

Hey,

I always figured they either reused those sequences because:

A) For people who might just be watching some random episode of the show for the first time so they wouldn't go, wow, where did they get those new clothes from?

B) They needed some filler so that the show was long enough.

It only took a reading of the first volume of the manga and one episode on FOXBOX to lean me tword not watching the anime. The little guy ( cant remember his name ) in my opionion looks terrible in actual animation. Every thing seems to blah and kidish, dunno why :/

I dunno. I still like the series (my new avatar's from it--*points*). I've heard the dubs are terrible, so that might have made you not like it. And Manta's definitely too unrealistically small in the anime. But yeah--in the manga they don't reuse the spirit flame mode scene quite as much as they have thus far...
