talking about me right? i think at least.flint_the_dwarf wrote:He's not ignoring that some equipment is better than others. I'm sure he knows that an Ibanez is generally better than a Dan Electro. But his point is that it's not the brand or model that you use, it's how you use it.![]()
Quit bitching.
Any ways i kind of got off equipment a while ago ...
What i was talking about is how i think people are born with a natural tallent, or natural inclination if you want to call it that, for a certain thing. And i feel that with out that natural inclination you can become a good musician though disciplined training, but i don't think you can ever become as good as a person who just naturaly gets it. if you keep all things even. like their desire to improve, the amount of time they spend practicing and the ways that they practice. The one who jsut gets it will go further, faster then somone who has to beat it into their heads with constant practice.
Well thats just how i feel from my own experience. i loved music, when i played Sax i would practice for hours, by the end of the school year i was pretty good. yet i had a friend of mine who jsut naturaly got it. he never spent as much time practicing as i did, but he was always better then me. well the fact that he could count had a lot to do with it ... i couldn't and still can't count ... i just memorized my cues from listening to what the other instruments were playing when i fucked up my entry from a long rest.
He was just able to do it, i wasn't, i tried, i failed ... but kept trying. by the time my musical education was over i was a little bit better, but not by much. Well i don't know if i did a good job explaining what i was talking about or if i jsut started confusing the shit out of you guys...
