Actually, I'm suing Phade for all the "bad" AMVs I've seen. I mean it's *his* fault that they're up and for ME to CHOOSE and download right?

Oh wait, people already *do* complain about "bad" AMVs on the .org and like they had no choice in seeing them.

Wow the parallels between our community and the real world are eerie.
jonmartensen wrote:Haha, yeah. I geuss I should rephrase that.

There is no legal basis for lawsuits against a company for the intentional misuse of it's products by an outside party. Proof must be presented that said company either decieved the users of its products functions, incited the misuse of its product in some manner, or did not take reasonable measures to prevent the misuse of its product for a lawsuit to be presented.

But we all know Videogame makers have these little meetings with each other about their true purpose/agenda and that's to kill people. I'm sure Doki can inform us further on this since he's one of those murderers :).

no, technicaly they are illeagle, but no one will persecute you for them unless you try selling them for more then jsut media costs (ie. blank CD's).

The reason no one will charge you is they're a form of double promotion for free. you promote the musical artist and the anime in the same breath. Well at least if it;s a good AMV you do, but thats besides the point. LOL i'd like to see the ICRAA or whatever tyeir acronym is sue somone for making a bad AMV ... that would jsut be funny.

actually, i think that it doesn't matter to the RIAA if you are "promoting" music through amvs. they'll still come after you when they have an itch to come after you.

In terms of the legality, the whole fucking internet is one big train wreck to me.

It's probably just coincidence.
