what the fuck. am i the only one who will be in school tomorow our administration is so dumb. the state declard a state of emergancy and all the schools were out but our school was open and they said it will most likely be open tomorow as well. grrrrrr

Again, the problem is not buying it super-cheap or fast, for that online would do, the problem is buying it from a local store which has a good warranty and good service. So far, the facts are on my side - this seems to be the cheapest store around for Athlon-based systems, even cheaper than almost every single one that's in Toronto (2 hour drive away), and it's right around the corner.

How do I get this into his head... that's another question.

Before you go to the store, check out prices at newegg.com , tigerdirect.com and pcmods.com

I'm starting a custom computer company with a friend of mine, and our first few rigs we're going to have to pay retail through those resellers.

I think you can probably do better (though the Canadian Xchange and the LCD monitor is probably throwing off my comparisons).

I wish I had known how to build my own system when I bought my computer a couple years ago. Now I'm stuck with a Dell until I can finish paying it off and can restart with a new system.

Don't wanna ressurect this too much, but...

as if anyone cared, an update:

This story has a happy ending. Went to the store and put in the deposit a couple of hours ago. So, now the countdown begins till Wednseday, when I'm supposed to have the built&configured thing arrive...

very cool, but hella expensive. If you got the cash, buy it. Even if it's just to make your friends drool on it.

But uh... you don't need an Alienware to play games. Just so... you know...
