Speed Racer Theme cover -- Initial D?

A few years ago, there was an album that had several groups/artists do covers of various cartoon themes. One of them was a cover of the Speed Racer theme (Yes, the English version), performed by Sponge. Possibly to Initial D?

What's with this flurry of new Initial D ideas lately? Has it been getting more popular or what?

as one of the guys who caome up with one of said videos i can give you my reason. i was introduced to ther series by a friend of mine and got hooked to ther series within 2 episodes.

therers also the fact that initial D is what Fast and the furious SHOULD have been.. becase lets admit it, drag raceing is for Pussies.

It just came out on DVD or is it coming soon to DVD... I forget All I know is I got like 3 letters telling me to buy it or pre-order it between September 4th and October 7th I think. So probably all that hype...

But I have heard that the over all feel of the show is a watered down version of the Fast and the Furious :-/

Naw. Watered down?

It's just got a differentfocus. Here, it's just a bunch of kids racing moderately crappy cars on winding rural roads. It's boring for some, really cool for others. Whatever you prefer.

So then, it would seem we might have an inflow of Initial D vids soon then... which is fine. It's fairly easy material to work with, for starters.
