Robotic bank robbery
Yet another one o the insane ideas you'll find on my website...
I have a better plan to rob a bank. It has a lower probability of success, but almost no probability of getting caught as you can rob the bank from the other side of the world. It's simple, really:
Robotically rob the bank. Details are being witheld as there are too many, but let's say that I've figured out the communications (crypto, several redundant measures), security (capacitance passivation layer ala SchlumbergerSema), the explosives and even the fallback.
The entire thing is going to run off of Asea Brown Boveri robotics (If you've seen Gundam 0083 you know why you shouldn't use Honeywell), a computer running Windows .NET Gundam (SSH REQUIRED!), elo Touchsystemes touchscreen and an Allen-Bradley controller.
Galley ports, etc won't stop the bot... once it's inside, it seperated into 5 components and there are 3 explosive devices carefully engineered so they can't be disarmed... method to prevent the people fromleaving include infrared sensors.
Marked bills, bait bills and dye packs will be stopped before they even get inside - I'll use a Diebold bill sensosr and security partitioning system to read bills and seperate them.
And of course dispense slots for displayoing or giving items... theoretically I can use a robotically controlled vehicle for a getaway, or public transportation even. Just have the robot unlock the Diebold magazine and empty the stackers into a preprinted Airborne Express envelope. The rbotic card drives up to a preprogrammed dropbox location, open the dropbox and deposit the envelope full of cash.
Cameras, microphones, sensors and controls are linked to the perpetrator realtime via Internet connection (long term) or if close, Infrared, radiolink or other. As part of the fallback system, the bomb goes into a scripted detonation conditional if the link fails.
Simple, really.
If you want the full 7 page writeup and operational specifications, I can send you a PDF.

Unless he has some major breakthrough, the kind of robots I think of these kind of things:
http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~personalrover/
or Asimo
If I was a patron at the bank when his robbery happened, I'd most likely laugh, give the robot some kind of hat, make it hold a purse, and take pictures of it.

of course this assumes that there would be no transmitter break-down's from Power-line and or Coper/Lead-filmed-windows designed to stop radio waves!
I don't see why you would want to rob a bank anyway's - they only keep $15,000 on hand at any one time, the tellers only have $3,000 in their cash drawer's and THAT is not worth fighting over a $40,000 robot!
If your going to hit a bank, where it hurts, get the location of the Barrer Bonds and grab them - you idiot !!!

The fallback system is scripted so that there is no incentive to intently jam the communication line (bomb is timer fallback), and the robot would simply try to reestablish communications, etc. Although I would not perpetrate a robbery, I would be more than willing to do research and supply the system to another perp...post-it wrote:of course this assumes that there would be no transmitter break-down's from Power-line and or Coper/Lead-filmed-windows designed to stop radio waves!

The ATM (Automated Stick-um-up Machine) would be minimal cost and disposable. If you want to get real fancy, a possible "premium" system would run off of a modified Segway-like or Vespa-like motorscooter.
This is what a typical holdup consists of:
1. Get inside
Whichever way you can. Banks usually have automatic doors but keep backup method on hand if needed.
2. Fire demonstration device to prove you're serious and capable. Preferably a firearm, no need to start panic now.
3. Instructions
Touchscreen and voice announcer says this:
The last bit is funny.Bank Robbery Robot wrote: This is a bomb. Do not move. You're on camera.
Greetings, this is a holdup.
If you've activated any alarm systems, we suggest you cancel them now. If the police arrive or anyone tries to escape, the other box on wheels will explode. [ Etc, etc, etc. ] (to be revised)
Insert up to 30 bills at a time into the flashing bill acceptor. Foreign objects will not be accepted.
Deposited: 00000,00$
Amount Due: 50000,00$
No change will be given (DUH!)

Bomb squad techs: The detonation core is IN the explosives and protected like a SchlumberSema smartcard. Passivation layer detects probing (made of a conductive epoxy), with printed silicone tracks for additional tamper resistance. Easy to make if you know how to. You can't get in.

8) your serious !? 8)
ok then
the time factor is cridical; yopu'll have 18 seconds to get in and out before anyone will have time to react!
within these wall are camera's - these are of no concern!
within the vaults are tin plated steel - a good titanium fist/knife should be enough.
the location quarry is usually the 3rd over and 4th down + it can be identified
by a very small locker that holds the panic button in the safe.
once you have what you can get in that 18 second count down, you'll need a
way out - this is no problem as the doors are just thick acrillic ( not glass )
once out side, you'll have 11 seconds to flee from the scene.
( fastest recorded panic button to cop's arrival was recorded in minnesota, 32 seconds )
being bullet proof will not be nesessary; Pinkerton cops can't hit ther side of a barn T_T
if it is money you have grabbed; it will form a Blue Gas that will stain the paper money ( useless! )
if it is barror bonds, these will not be touched; they are GOLD to banks.
( the average Barror Bond is worth about $10,000 each; if you bare it - its yours )
(( Barror Bonds can not be cashed in the usual manner - let me know and I'll fill you in on the discreat way of handling this transaction. ))
1) loss of life; minimal
2) not enough time for them to properly react.
3) your in and out before they knew what hit them.
4) fast action leaves blurry visions of who did what.
the rest is up to you - Pal
