Rant: idiocy/suckage

Is it just me, or does it seem like the off topic areas of the boards have had the cumulative intelligence of its posters halved in the past three months?

It's gone from stupid yet funny/witty posts to just plain stupid. Grammar, spelling, and (important one here) general coherence of thought has gone from something one could expect when meeting a new poster (or just one you haven't seen before) to a rarity (and I'm not talking about people who learn English as a second language, because they can usual type it better than English speaking posters a few years their senior.) I don't know if it's new members, older ones getting lazy, or just that the balancing out posters have tired of the blatant idiocy of a large portion of OT posters and decided to not even read OT stuff anymore.

Whatever the cause though, I'm tired of this useless crap, and I wish it would stop bleeding over into the other areas of the forum (General Anime, General Music, General AMV). Now don't get me wrong, I'm not nostalgic for "Teh good ol' days" or whatever, I'm more so just nostalgic for "Quite being such babbling morons you fucking idiots"

Thanks for reading the first line and the last, but nothing in the middle, go back and read the whole thing because you are one of the people I'm talking about.

Ironically enough, Truest Chaos has stopped his idiot act after all of the other idiots have started to rise up and post.

I have to agree that a lot of the OT/WOT areas have been spiralling out of control recently, and an awful lot of threads are starting to have nothing worth reading whatsoever.

I don't get it.

Basically you're saying it's ok to act dumb in OT, just not really dumb, as long as you use correct grammar and spell accordingly.

The forums have been slow for quite some time and I think everyone's posting basically anything to get it 'back to where it was' i.e. not as boring. I don't know. But then again, this is what probably drove people away from the forums, so I guess that wouldn't work.

I understand the part about it all going into the upper portions of the forum. But then again, the same bullshit goes on up there, arguments about the same thing, ppl asking the same stupid questions, whatever. It's really no better. It's all over the forum, not just 'down here'.

Someone point me in the right direction: What kind of topics should be in the OT part of the forum? I read SpPanda's sticky but apparently, ppl are still lost.

And if you feel that it's not worth reading, then go make your own thread and see how far it goes.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand... I agree with the lack of intellegence, here lately. I do it is being overrun by CN n00bs. I really don't care, its just their lack of exposure to anime and the fact that to make themselves "badass," they diss shows. Thus making every topic Flamable.

I agree that posts have gotten stranger and close to ridiculous for most parts, but alot of people like to ask such questions because of spur of the moment and junk like that. I don't know.

I know what you mean about the grammatical errors. They can be really annoying, but like you said, maybe it's just laziness.
