Sorry, I meant to specify that it was Farenhit, damnit can't spell. Well my friend tweaked it and it was at 1.5 Ghz. How can I change the FSB?

How is your friend 'tweaking' it. Tweaking usually means improving performance. However, you guys have both failed to run the cpu at it's designed clock rate. I don't know how you're doing this. The AthlonXP's are multiplier locked. There should be an Auto setting in the motherboard BIOS. Also it would help if you actually maybe possibly took a glance at the manual. The XP2400 runs @ 2Ghz. That's basically 133FSBx15multiplier.
So, read the manual, find out how to set the multiplier to 15 and the FSB to 133Mhz and you should be good to go. Make sure you also have a nice CPU fan on there :p. But it would have probably burnt up by now if you hadn't so I am guessing you have.
And stop saying tweaking >_> you're giving it a bad name...

Ok, I changed the Processor External Frequency to 133 from 100. I even changed the multiplier to 7.5x/15x. Now I tried to overclock it but it just resets after a while. Not by a whole lot by like 8.0x/16.0x.

AFter some internet surfing my PC also simply restarted while I was watching TV... and heard of Lovesan - some latest worm/virus around which will restart your PC as well as attacking a Micro$oft server on Aug 16th together with all the other invaded PCs.
I downloaded a removal tool from symantec and the problem was gone in a sec. Don't know if this helps you but maybe it is simply a software problem rather than your processor...
Peace out,

The problem is completely hardware/bios settings related. He just can't get the CPU to run at the speed it was a rated for.
Shadow, take a look at the cpu itself. The top or bottom(on the die) there should be some markings. The model # should be on there. Make sure it is indeed a XP2400. Failing that, try to find out if your BIOS has an auto-detect setting. If you can get windows installed you can use CPUID(http://www.cpuid.com/) to check out the model #.
