TWILIGHTNING - New Finnish Power Metal Band

Post by rubyeye » Mon Aug 25, 2003 7:19 pm

Ok, I was checking out Spinefarm's (Finnish record label) website for some new bands after discovering Nightwish, Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica through them....and I came across these guys.

They just released their debut album Delirium Veil and I must say, they sound quite promising. Certainly similar to fellow Finnish mates Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica but with a catchy '80s vibe to them mixed with some progressive elements.

Production is pretty good too. Done at the famous Finnox Studios and produced by the same guys who work with Stratovarius and others - lucky bastards!

There are samples of some songs on their site and I'm just curious what anyone else thinks. There doesn't seem to be too much exposure for them yet so reviews are scarce.

Checked out their samples, woah, I like them. I may have to pick up the CD.

maybe?

I find samplers are an excellent way to experience a band, if you liked the sample so you should DEFINETLY pick up the CD.

I just recently heared a Fiddler Records sample, heared a song by a band called Saosin, went to see them live and love them.

what you dont understand is this band may have good samplers, but they are kind of your generic powerrock band. The samplers don't indicate their own special sound, which would stop me from buying the cd.

well, if in doubt hit up kazaa.

Put in the band name, do a search and download everything that comes up. Check back about 10 minutes later and sample 3 - 4 songs.

Heard of these guys, haven't been able to check 'em out. Once I get my comp back, I will. :)
