Is the region 2 japanese End of Evangelion dvd higher quality than the region 1 US version? If it is, how big of a difference is it really?

I thought that Region 2 was Europe and that both US and Japan were both Region 1? But as for the answer to your question, I dont know, unless they remastered it for that region it should be the same only with a different region code encoded into it.

Region 2 is also Japan.

The original Japanese release is the same but there is a digitally remastered release which came out in a boxset and is being released individually at the moment which is *significantly* better.

I learned something new today.

Digitally remastered goodness. They need to release a remastered and mabye slightly touched up version of these Robotech DVDs here, they are good watching for the story, but the age of the movie really shows in the color quality, everything looks faded.
