yea, Shinji ... no not the whiny bitchy aspect of him ... just how he runs away form his problems all the time and how he's always alone ... thats probably not a good thing to be saying ...

Heh...I don't run away from my problems all the time. I only do that when people use their "higher authority" to end arguements because we both know they'd lose otherwise. :) Shinji has had a MAJOR influence on me. I'll admit it. He is, in fact, THE deepest fictional character I've ever seen.

The most I have ever done is move in whatever ways I can to dodge something/get through a crowd. I've found that I can move my arms, legs, and torso in really odd ways when I have to.

And keep in mind, many anime characters were based off real people, so by imitating them, you are in essence immitating a real person, or an aspect of the creator that was put into the character.
I'd agree, as I find myself doing that sometimes. In fact, it has been found that people will naturally absorb scenario resolution strategies and other information from other people. As anime characters are, as you mentioned, more "human" in terms of depth, they often do have certain methods of doing things.

It's interesting, actually. It seems there's never a generic form character in anime, whether it's Vash or Kenshin.

I've learned (to use) some foriegn slang/structures, and some cultural procedures, actually. Besides, saying "bloke" instead of "guy" is both impressive and gender-netural.

sp: WAIT!!! I CAN'T REMEMBER MY LINES!!!
/he says this while knocked down
/me drops friend to floor [all faking it mind you] ^_^
me: Get up. I will allow you to die, like a warrior...

[I LOVE running that skit... First fight you see in Shenmue Chapter 1!]

...because if there's one phrase from something that I constantly use, it's also from Shenmue (well, the 'dub') - Ryo: "You can eat it all!". I don't know why, but the way the guy said it always made me laugh. I use that phrase for like... everything.

Otherwise... it depends. Most of the time, it's kinda hard to imitate anime characters when you watch stuff that's subbed. Unless it's something like Tomo's "Yaaaaaay!" from Azumanga, but I don't have the voice to imitate that. My brother does it pretty well though.
