Check preview and export settings and make sure you dont have "ignore audio effects" selected.

uh what?

What do you mean "show up" show up where?

You said you fixed the preview problem, so what exactly do you mean? You are rendering the timeline aren't you?

the effects wont show up when im previewing them in the timeline. lets say i wanted to do a picture in picture effect. i would drag the zoom effect and place it in the transistion timeline. i would get the video to way i want it to look but when i go to preview it in the timeline it doesnt show up excpet for my regular footage.

Are you 'previewing' by hitting the 'play' button on the preview window (where the video shows up when you play it) or the space bar, or are you previewing by hitting 'Enter' to do a real Preview where Premiere renders everything under the work area and then plays it? If you're not hitting 'Enter', Premiere isn't going to show the effects unless they've been rendered before. You can see them (without audio, unless there's a way to change this that I don't know of) by holding down the 'Alt' key and dragging the playhead (line that shows where in the footage is being displayed) across the footage, or by hitting 'Enter' to render a preview.

You can double click the effect in the transition area to get a preview of it and see if that is what you wanted it to look like. Then just hit OK. After that render it and watch it in the monitor normally.

Maybe... I'm just guessing here, you want to go out and buy a book on Premiere?

It's an amazing program, even the demo which I'm guessing you are using since most of your questions are in the help file.

You want to put a zoom effect on your video right? I think that you need to drag the zoom effect on the video clip and then render it.
