Professional Anime Music Videos...

Post by OmniStrata » Tue Jul 22, 2003 9:48 am

I just hopped back into my Master's Folder after opping some vids and this one hit me...

song: Mind by Aria [I think...]
anime: Kiddy Grade
Produced by: Gonzo Digimation...

my score - DAMN good shiet... [the fact that the Kiddy Grade main characters are naked multiple times is beside the point 8) ]

Good timing, cool beat to the song, etc...

How many others are there? (I'm not talking trailers or previews, I'm talking straight up COMPANY made AMVs)

I know there's 2 for Agent Aika. [I have the domestic DVDs with the amvs on them, either that or some fan got really lucky though I doubt that highly]

Did anyone see any other Professional Anime Music Videos?
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

There are like eighteen for Fushigi Yuugi (don't remember how good they are), enough so that the original fansubbers (Tomodachi I believe) did a release entitled Fushigi Yuugi Music Crips that you may still be able to find from your local anime club's lending library. Alas, Pioneer has not blessed us with an official release of this.

There are a couple official Please Save My Earth videos as well, which are pretty decent, but tend to get a little repetitive if you watch them all in sequence.

And then there's the Hellsing trailer/official MV.......which is actually somewhat better than the series. Oh well.....

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

skywide, armspread : forward, upward
Coelem - Tenebral Presence single now freely available

i know of two really good ones on the Noir imports. they use songs from the OST for Noir as well. teh editing is really good and the songs chosen fit perfectly.

There are 2 amvs on my project ako dvd. Both basically use an english song from the soundtrack with random clips from the movie and shots of the singing group. I guess they could have been real music videos.

I think the songs are :
Follow Your Dreams
Dance Away

Well, that kiddy grade video (there's 3 different versions on 3 different dvds as far as I know) is technically a promotional video (kinda like a preview) for Kiddy Grade. It was shown in 2002 at a con first, and then got on DVDs. I believe >50% of the video never made it into the actual series.

There is a full length amv of the Eva Op and Eds on the remastered discs. There's also a full length op of excel saga floating around somewhere. There's also an amv for Onegai Teacher as a DVD special feature. Not sure where you would cut the line for amv/trailer/previews tho. BTW, there's a preview of Mahoromatic that's very much like an AMV (it's two parts, a serious and a funny part done to 2 songs on the OST).

Easy.

Miyazaki's "On Your Mark."

Easiliy (to me) the best AMV ever created. I mean have you ever felt inspired enough by a song to want to go animate an entirely new story to it? :-P
