Is it right to do this or not?
About the AWA pro contest..there is a video that both Kodiak and I worked on, the Trigun Tuff video..that he'd like to see entered into the pro side, but I have a video that I've been working on just for the pro contest though
Would it be right for him to enter the Trigun vid under his name, even though both of us worked on it, so that I can still enter my vid as well. Both would be in different catagories. Or would that be akin to the whole trolling thing?

Just be honest.
Videos have been entered before with dual/multiple creators.
Enter both videos, be honest about the creators and let the organisers decide if it is to be entered or not.
Of course, that doesn't change the fact that you've already screwed up the whole Blind Judging thing which AWA Pro is all about........

Although you've already made your decision, I would like to put in my thoughts on the whole multi-editor entry thing.
Jeff (gambitt) and I work together as Nightowl Pictures. I run it like an actual production studio (considering it is). Sometimes I'll do a video he works on, and sometimes I'll work on a video he's doing. We both worked on it, but one of us is ultimately the creator/director/producer, whatever you want to call it, of our particular video. Therefore, if I did a specific section of Jeff's video and he entered it into masters, I would keep my name off it, as it's his video. Same goes with me - if I conceptualize something and Jeff does some work for me, it's still my video.
As far as I'm concerned, I treat an AMV as I would a film - same goes for contests. Joe-the-grip didn't win any awards for Punch-Drunk Love, P.T. Anderson did. It was his baby.
I'm sure you could still enter the video... lots of people have entered videos into Pro after they've shown it to people who are entered into Pro as well. As long as you're cool with Kodiak getting the credit, it should be fine. I dunno how Jeff feels, I'll ask him to chime in, as he's sitting right next to me.
Before you make a final decision not to enter it, think about it a bit more... it never hurts to enter...

Ok I wll chime in. First of all, though, I have to stress that you should enter your video anyway, ladydx, because two years ago I entered my "Every Breath You Take Re-Edit" AMV into AWA Pro after I had already premiered it AND set it up for download here. Unless they changed the context of "blind" judging (which I thought meant no logos or bumpers), you should still be ok.
As for shared credit, I've never turned down an offer to work with Nate on anything ever, even if it meant I got no credit in contests. Nate has always volunteered to work on my projects, and when he does he takes the same oath. It's like a "I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine" type of approach.
Now when it comes to the public perception of who made a video, I always make sure to let whoever is misinformed know that it wasn't just myself working on a project. Same with not knowing if I worked on someone else's. If you keep saying that then people will get the idea. Not everyone knows that I did work on TriEngel, nor do many people know Nightowl did a major portion of my Numb video, but that's a sacrifice that I'm willing to make as is he.
So good luck with the video, please reconsider and try out Pro. If it doesn't work, go to Expo. And kudos for having the balls to collaborate

On the total flip side though, Jeff, I signed your name to Witch Hunter Robin: Reloaded on the Otakon sheet as a "creator" for those 5 seconds of footage you busted yer ass on ^_^()

Hi, Christy!
Long time no talk. Not commenting on the contest situation you have, since I've never worked with anyone else, but how are you? :P
