Save Ferris... errr Pat lol
With all that Pat has done for the AMV community and cons in the past I hope everyone will help him in his quest. If it wasn't for him things would be very different in regards to contest and his grand amv server would just be someone's wet dream. I really hope to see people step up to the plate and help out Pat since he has done so much of the work up to this point. I don't know if anyone has started things rollin, but I am going to be hooking Pat up with my Sony DSR-30 DVCAM deck. Even if I don't have much time to produce new work currently, I know my equipment will be put to good use for the benefit of everyone in Pat's well capable hands...

Quu I think you should just setup something like paypal etc for all you do. Don't bother with incentives etc. If people are donating for 'stuff' or to have their name in a list of donators... it seems like they are doing it for the wrong reasons.
Giving little things in return is interesting... ala public broadcast... but I'd rather just donate and know that Quu still is pouring his heart and effort into things with a lil extra $ to make it roll that much smoother.
Make the donations easy and accesible... encouraged but not required. Phade's 'proceed/donate' is borderline ... but I don't complain.
As for dealing in DVDs for $... I just don't like the idea of exchanging videos for $... kind of makes this all more commercial and competitive than it should be.
/waits for super pillar of org donation offer:
- User name in bold
- User doesn't download videos, they are shipped on dvd (others must pay $7 per dvd /stabs at vicbond
)
- User gets big ole star on the forums
- User gets all expenses paid trips to cons
- User gets edit button on forum
