A question on AMV's, well duh,

Hmm amv's........... this question is about the music really, but i ask anyway.

When im making an amv...... i dont always want the whole song that i started with, i want to change half way through...... now, is this kepping with the spirit of an amv... i am leaving the way of the amv?

In short, should an amv contain parts of various songs? (also, does anyone know any semi descent sound editors? ((i got cooledit, but its crap!)) )

there are plenty of good amv's, that ive seen, that use multiple songs

I use Acoustica MP3 Audio Mixer. It's 25 dollars but you can get a full trial version to see if you like it for like 15 days.
