Hi. I'm new here but I've been downloading AMVs for ages.
I'm just wondering if anyone could name a good easy-to-use program for making music videos?
Thanks a lot:)

Perhaps you should've posted this in the "Video Software" forum...TheOckeroid wrote:Hi. I'm new here but I've been downloading AMVs for ages.

Mods can you please move it?

I can recommend a number of programs, but at the same time...none are very easy to use. Making AMVs is a very difficult process and requires hardwork and dedication.
Assuming you are using a Windows OS and have a PC. The most obvious recommendation is Adobe Premiere version X.Y (4.2 up through 6.5?). It is what most editors use, but it's not cheap. Another Window's alternative is Windows Movie Maker which comes with most Windows OS installations. I have never used it, but I have seen some solid videos made in it.
Actually...I highly recommend starting out with it since A) it requires less monetary commitment and B) it'll help you learn the ropes about making a video. You don't need flashy effects and junk to make a video. You just need straight cuts and easy fades. Windows Movie Maker has all this and it'd probably be best to learn with it and then "graduate" to Premiere. Again, I think anyone can make a good video with simple things...it's not really effects that make a video, but concept, which isn't really the tools, but in you .
If you have an Apple based computer there seems to be two choices, iMovie and Final Cut Pro. Just like Premiere/WMM, iMovie is similar to WMM in that it's free (i think) and easier to use (but less capabilities) while Final Cut Pro is debateably the best editing software out there (but will cost an arm and a leg).
Hope this helps! Oh and if you want Window's Movie Maker help...I'd suggest Rozard of MexicanJunior since both have used the program in the past and made solid vids.

Windows OS = Windows Operating System. That would be Windows 3.1, Windows 95, 98, 2000 or XP.TheOckeroid wrote:Sorry for posting this in thw wrong place.
I'm not sure what Windows OS is. I've got Window 2000 Prof.
Thanks for the help though

WMM is here:
http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/moviemaker/
BUT it is only for Windows XP.
If you go to the video software forum the very first thread in the window (it's sticky) lists pretty much all the video editors and picture editors that are out there. There is even a post that covers free editors.
