No sound in premiere

can anyone tell me why i dont have sound in premiere 6,0 with larger files like movies and episodes everything works except the audio in premiere (in windowsamediaplayer it does work)

Premiere has problems with the 'mp3' streams many videos have. I'd suggest taking the audio out of the video using something like virtualdub by using the 'save wav' feature and setting audio processing to full (so that it makes a decompressed audio file)
