Damnit!, I make AMV and submit it and then noone gives me an opinion on it!! Well, I got one guy to tell me that I am a pirate and am evil, just cause some of the video is not 100% DVD rip quality, well damnit I dont have DVD drive, I have player and rip through TV tuner with encoder that came with it! Im not the only one this happens to either, many other ppl are victims to this treatment! They act like they are god and can call you an evil SINNER just cause they suspect you downloaded video and are using ILLEGAL COPY, well damnit, who fucking cares!!!! Just watch vid, that is what site is for! and give review :\ I dont care if someone says it is shit just review it damnit!!!

Although I must admit, his/her rant is spot on when its talking about the attitudes of [some] people on this site. I know when I joined up I was getting abused for not being as "honest" as some of the other members here, and becasue I was using low-qual footage. Well, to people with that attitude, I said:

And I think n00bs should be allowed to defend themselves in the same way. Fuckin hell, this following (AMV's) is gonna stagnate if the attitude spreads, and that means this site will be dead in the water. Which, lets fce it, would suck. Already I'm noticing that lately the posts have been less and less and less, it seems that the site is losing its appeal among new and old alike. Why, I wonder? Because the "high rankers" supposed "power" has gone to their heads, and they are only interested in abusing people who aren't that good at editing, maybe to prove something to others, or maybe they just have no faith in themselves so they have to stoop to that level to get their kicks. Who knows?

What high rankers are abusing who now? On second thought, don't bother dragging out names...
Since I have been watching, this place has had doomsday scheduled over and over again. I have yet to see a negative correlation between this site and the contests at the cons I go to.
Actually, a couple years ago the forum wasn't the huge place it is now and yet people still managed to make amvs. It's rather silly to think people aren't going to make amvs anymore because a forum on an amv catalog site loses posters. Go work for Matt at Otakon and then say that no one wants to makes amv anymore
What is wrong with telling people they need to use legitimate sources and programs? They shouldn't take it so personally. If they want to, then they will...but shouldn't pitch a fit if people don't break down their door for said video.
Bogosort still has yet to get back to me on that amv using all downloaded footage that wins a con...^_^

3) you got about 300 downloads...you should be happy when you get 1 review/400 downloads (moreover with the star scales there are less reviews than before)
4)You gave only 1 review...so what do you expect from others ?
5) there are more and more videos here...people tend to review the videos they really appreciate. Maybe your video is not the best on this site, in which case you'll get very few reviews
6) There are videos that I submitted years ago, that won awards, and for which I have less than 2 opinions...so...

Weeeeeeell I can't really say anything, I try to keep oppinions to myself because well... i could go into every little detail on the oppinions of the amv and it gets boring and would piss the people off. bEsides... I am not so lucky, having to wait until i get plenty of money so that I can like... build my own computer that would be strictly for offline work and multimedia...
it's never going online, it will be that special...
illuminating case... glowing heatsink... lit up cooling fans... and after i completely tear it and build it up... I will have LINUX OS!!! yay!
be lucky you actually have stuff to rip footage from... i still don't have a vcr >.<
