Did one got an e-mail from the Anime Expo AMV contest?
Cause I did, and it said...

This email is being sent to let you know that your AMV entry(s)

Comedy Category - Without GTO

has passed the initial judging stages for the Anime Expo AMV contest, and
made it to the semi-finals. Please do not forget to pick up your
complimentary AMV tickets at the AMV Panel on Friday afternoon at the
convention. Congradulations! Omedeto! And good luck in contest from this
point on.

So ah... What does that mean?

I would guess it means your vid is gonna be shown at AX.
I however, have not got one for either of my videos!

does anyone know if they send rejection emails as well?
If so, I can keep some hope....

I got one too for "The Two Shall Meet", but not for another video. Hence, I'm pretty sure this means anybody emailed for this has made the finalists and will be shown at the AMV contest.

So you're saying, If you submit a video, but you don't get the e-mail today. Does that mean you didn't make it to the semi-finals?

I'm pretty sure how that works. Sorta like receiving acceptance and rejection letters for colleges. I think...

I guess we should wait for further clarification from the actual AX AMV contest people...

Yea, I got one too for my entry...

I'm not sure if this is the finalists that will be shown though since it says "semi-finals"... There could be more round for the final judging...
