Pinnacle Systems DV200. Around $200.

That's the best you'll find at such a cheap price.

DV200 is a capture card that includes Premeire(Normally $550). It's a good bargin. Pricewatch has them listed for $250.

You can always go for something cheaper like a WinTV card. Those run about $40. Their perfomance and features may be lacking though.

My friends All-in-wonder looks pretty good. I dunno which chip he went with, but it was pretty low down on the scale.

The later all-in-wonders(7500+ I believe) use ATI's custom capture chip. You do get better performance. However, the cheapest a all-in-wonder 7500 is about $120 and has no-where near the same 3D performance as your Geforce4. Maybe a All-In-Wonder 8500DV would be closer, but that is about $170.

I think you're looking at wither a cheapo Brooktree878 solution or a Hauppauge WinTV-dbx solution.

:/

You could also sell your current Geforce4 and buy a Geforce4 that has VIVO(Video In, Video Out). 64MB(if you can find one) $95+, 128MB $123+

I was going through much the same problem as yourself 1/2 a year ago. I am pretty sure that having an all-in-wonder plus your other video card might cause a few issues or at least some frustration. Have you checked out any of the solutions from pinnacle systems (www.pinnaclesys.com) that arent capture cards, but external capture devices. I finally just decided to buy a DV500 DVD becuase I do editing for TV also. If you are intrigued by the external capture devises make sure to stay away from Dazzle Multimedia. Anyway, I hope this wasnt too late.
Good luck

the latest radeon all in wonder cards have the Theater 200 chipset. It's a more powerful encoding solution that has features like Video Soap which cleans video stream recording on the fly.

I have both the AIW 9700 and 9000 (though I'm selling the 9000) and they are really nice.

The aiw 9700 also allows you to use pixel shading features for various video filter and effects. You definately get a good bundle for a decent price.
