Window Fan

should it be faced so that it blows air IN or OUT?

Which every one cools the most. Monitor temps with it either way over 2days(1 with it sucking air in, the other out). Then use which ever method works best. I would probably say blowing it out is better as side fans usually are above/near the cpu/heatsink.

gotcha. I read your reply and then tried to install it in the window. However, the screws in the box the fan came in don't seem to help set it in place. Is there something I'm missing?

ALWAYS make the one(s) in front of the case take air in, and the ones in back of the case blow air out. That way, there's a set air flow path.

:shock: when I read the topic, I though you just liked the OS a whole lot...
My case came with two side fans blowing out, with pleanty of vents to bring air in, dunno if it is the best config, but it pretty much works.

But the paradox comes when you have a fan on the SIDE. Of the case you silly bucket of bones.
