A part of the problem?

So... Here's the story.
My friend Josh gave me his copy of the new Linkin Park album. I like the band fairly well, so I was cool with it. He didn't like the album... he just likes Hybrid Theory. Anyway... So I've been listening to it. I was thinking to myself "I wonder how many bad AMVs will be made to this music.. Hmm.. This isn't bad. Pretty good stuff."

Honestly, I like the album better than Hybrid Theory.

As I listened, I was trying so hard to keep AMVs out of my mind. I was thinking: "I hope I don't make an AMV to this stuff though.. but why do I hope that?"

And then it happened. I heard Track 9, titled "Breaking the Habit".

I got an idea.

I listened to it again.

And again.

The idea won't go away.

The image of this AMV in my mind is burned into my briain.

Have I become a part of the problem?

So look out. It's coming soon. A Linkin Park AMV from me. I never thought I'd see the day.

Who cares what the majority thinks - if you make a good video, it shouldn't matter. The problem isn't that there are so many Linkin Park or DBZ videos out there (whether or not you use DBZ, it will be brought up) - the problem is most of them are terrible. If you have an idea you like, go with it, and give it your all. Who really cares what everyone else thinks.

Agreed. The only reason I don't watch most DBZ or Linkin Park vids is because it's hard to filter the good from the bad.

That actually goes with most anime/songs that so many new creators tend to overuse.

Maybe if you make a really good one, it will discourage newbies from making their own videos to it. They wouldn't want their videos to look bad in comparison to yours.

If you like the song and your ideas, I say go for it.

A good AMV is a good AMV; it doesn't matter what music or anime is used.

It's not DBZ, I can assure you of that. I don't want to say what anime I am using though... I fear someone taking my idea and using it for their own. It's that damn good an idea. Trust me

Hopefully, your "brand name" as a creator/studio will outweigh the stigma of using LP, and people will be willing to give it a look. I know I will.

Meh, you got to hand it to Linken Park...

I have not heard the second cd, but like, ever god damn song from the first cd works really with at least 3 videos, even dbz would work well if more people would just try to focus on the dramatic half of dbz, rather than just fighting. When I heard all the songs, I could not help but figure out like 15 shows that would work with one song or another. Maybe someone should try to do a big multi-genre various amv with just one of the songs.

Oh, and I say go for it. Nothing really to lose.
