I think that he is making a play on the fact that the British Union Jack colors(red, white and blue) were used on the Union jack long before the US stole them for our flag.

OH MY GOD! Like the British invented those colors or something. the US also took a lot from the way the british government was run, but saying the US stole the British government would be extremely misleading.

i would just like to take this moment to point out that the british flag is not a Union Jack, its is a union flag, a union jack is the union flag hung of the rear post/mast of a ship, known as the jack, hence the union jack is only found on naval ships.......hanging of the back...., thats the end of my rant
