its not something that was planned out that much. I can't be certain, because I just really don't know, but this is how I think it got started:

One guy that posted on two forums, made similar threads, two threads that lead back and forth to each other.

Then somone else did as I did, posted in a third forum to the first two and then someone else did it on a fourth forum, and so on and so forth, it just snowballed till it got here and I'm sure it will go on.
