No, in an ideal world, there would be money, only it would all belong to me.

no your not ... in an ideal world about 5.2 - 5.5 billion people (evenly distributed all over the world) would just keel over and die. that would solve so many of the fucking dumb ass problems we have, in an ideal world ther also wouldn't be such a thing as money either but thats another argument.
News flash: THERE IS NO IDEAL WORLD AND THERE NEVER WILL BE.

We'll never have a world completely run a way everyone (or even just a majority) will like.

As for your idea, that sounds nice and all, but how will it fix problems? And how do we determine who dies?

And as for money, it's not perfect, but it's the best economic system we have for today's modern world. Show me a culture that doesn't have money. There isn't one.
I'm out...

well it sure as hell woun't be a human making the choices of who dies. All people are far too biased and stupid to be given that power. It would just have to be totaly random selection, of people just falling over and dying.

how would it fix problems? well it probalby won't fix many of the social problems we have, but it will sure as hell fix a lot of enviromental ones for a while. We won't have to worry so much about totaly raping the planet for a while. theres also the huge over population problem in 3rd world countries, that would be fixed for a while.

well, no i hate money, i (or anyone) can't think up a better system because were so used to having it aorund that it's hart to see a futrue with out it. But the whole notion of people killing each other over a little slip of paper is quite stupid ... or at least it fails to make sense in my eyes.
what dose money represent any ways, when i hold a $20 bill in my hand what is it supposed to be symbolic of? i know that paper money was introduced so people wouldn't have to carry around large sums of precious metals, even those are quite worthless if you think of it.

ok i'm going even further off topic ... i just don't see very much sense behind it, well, i understand it, but it's use is just stupid to me. ack, i hate economics ...

Not true. :?

Just because we're used to something doesn't mean we can't think of an alternative.

oh i never said we can't come up with an alternative, there are plenty of alternatives that are worse then or jsut as bad as the system we have now. But what i said was no one can come up with a better system.

But thats not true eiter, because who knows, we may get surprized with somone inventing a much better system ... but i don't think any of us should hold our breaths for it ... it's problaby not comming in our life times ... exspecialy if we hold our breath for it.

Actually, money arose as a means of replacing pigs and cows.

See, way, WAY back in the day, people would trade goods or services.

"I'll give ya two pigs, Bill, if you'll fix my roof."

"Toss in a chicken, Sam, and it's a deal."

Evenetually, the need arose to standardize the system to give itmes and services some common iodea of value. So people began to use currency to represent goods or services. Instead of pigs, it's an amount of money worth the same as pigs. And money is used to purchase these goods and services instead of trading for them directly.

Money is not the problem. People wanting money for the sake of money is the problem.

How to fix it? I dunno. Go back to pigs and chickens?

Yeah, then they would learn the meaning of money, and not to abuse it.
