Better Luck Tomorrow is a film by an Asian dude about four Asian high schoolers (who look and are over 20) in Orange County. An indie film, it sees release in only a few theaters, one being the AMC 30 in the Block at Orange.

It tells the story of 4 overachievers in high school, who are doing everything right: great grades, inhumane amounts of club participation, community service, Academic Decathlon, you name it, these guys are doing it. They get bored of this, and quickly find their way running underground things such as cheatsheets and drugs, earning tons of cash. This film chronicles the rise and eventual decline of that lifestyle.

Being a film about Asians premiering in a county dominated by said Asians, the movie theater was packed. Everywhere was Asian chicks, Asian chicks, and more Asian chicks. Sickening, except for the one mixed chick that I saw, but that's a different topic entirely.

And the movie itself was quite good, carrying a good plot, characters, and enough cinematic quality to it to not just be some random movie about the life story of fictional characters. This movie had some depth, and shows great promise for the director as a first work.

You should check this movie out, but remember, just because you watch the movie, it doesn't make you any more of an Asian than you already aren't.

Reminded me of Spike Lee's treatment of African American culture in "Do the Right Thing."

Decent movie: B-

I so wanna see that movie....but what did this remark mean?

who look and are over 20)
you dont have to be in your teens to act in teenage movies....Almost all of the teenie bopper movies have the main stars that aren't teens when they make the movies

that was the point... it's really hard to believe said actors as 16 and 17 when they look 25. still, it doesn't detract from the movie itself; but I thought I'd point out the obvious.
