Well thank you, nice to see people backing me up. Now, jsut because i was able to get a clear and coherent thought out of my head and onto the monitor about eva by no means should imply that i have the slightest understanding of what the hell is going on it that series or movie ... I don't want peopel to confuse that last thing i said with me actualy knowing any thing. I'll have to watch the series and move several times over and ask hundreds of questions before i can get a foggy notion of whats going on. Now i probalby said that before, but i felt like saying it again ... so ... i suppose i'm done now ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ....dwchang wrote:Bravo! Totally agree. I love Evangelion and think it is a *great* anime, but I think at least 50% of the people just regurgitate that it's the greatest anime ever because everyone else says so. This is the case for a lot of things in entertainment be it music, movies, etc.Propyro wrote: Hell, you can say the same thing about Evangelion, there are lots of people who would viciously defend claims to Eva being the best anime of all time simply because other people say it's good with no reasons of their own. (and i am an eva fan too, i'm willing to admit that theres some really dumb eva fans).
Although it makes Eva popular, I kind of don't like it at the same time. I'd rather have people *truly* enjoy something that I enjoy because that's more genuine. I won't say what anime, but there is a fairly popular anime that a lot of people like and I always go with the "why?" question and get half-assed or some times no answers. I don't think people realize just how influenced we are by other factors.
Leonardo DiCaprio playing as Trunks in a live DBZ movie?????

Meh. I thought Evangelion was horrible. But then again, I didn't like Princess Mononoke. Or Spirited away.. And Grave of the Fireflies didn't phase me at all... I'm just weird like that. 0.o
Anyway, I don't think there's anythign wrong with DiCaprio either.. Tell me why you all think he's such a bad actor?

Just need one, how about Titanic? The scene where he's shivering to death comes to mind. I watch that and his "acting" and find it laughable (not ONLY laughing at him dying, but the "acting").SQ wrote:Anyway, I don't think there's anythign wrong with DiCaprio either.. Another "awesome" scene (not DiCaprio) is Brad Pitt at the end of SeVeN
