damnit.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

because that's when I made my post.

sry, I just needed to get some clarification. See, thats what they say in red letter in a black background during hte promo vid floating around the net, but it turns out on closer inspection that the actual words on the coffin are different, and I can't figure out what they say, so what i ask is that someone here that knows alot about hellsing (seen the aniem alot, read the manga several times) clarify what the exact phrase on the coffin is.

Sorry to break the pace of this thread .. but damn nice read Cat ... much appreciated, tonight ill re-watch a few of the eps in the series (o damn ...
) ... but that is a great view.

...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.

ACTUALLY, this is a biblical reference. Jesus was walkin along one day, chilling with his disciples, when he was approached by the Pharisees (church bigwigs) who were testing him. They brought him a man suspected guilty of a crime, the punisment for said crime was death by stoning. Wen they asked him who should fulfill the punishment, he looked at them and said, "those of you free from sin can throw the rocks". the Pharasee's looked at him funny, gave him custody of the man, and went on their happy way, never knowing the true meaning of the phrase. The quote is taken directly form the first King James translation of the bible.UncleMilo wrote: The passing phrase "Cast in the name of God, ye not Guilty" is a mis-translation from the German... it is actually a phrase that was inscribed on the swords of the executioners... the premise was that because they were killing people in the name of the church, they were excused of the sin of murder.
As Paul Harvey would say, "And now, you know the rest of the story."

Although Im not sure about the references to other cultures I always assumed that the words were relating to Alucard's situation at Hellsing. The reference of Hermes becoming tame is in line with Alucard becoming a servant to the Hellsing family on purpose. Alucard said it himself, he put aside his pride and became a servant to the humans. Thats how I always interpruted those words, I never really thought any deeper into it than that.
