.....it's not like it's any different from how it was earlier...taken over by big kids and overran with perversion, ignorance, arrogance, and immaturity, it's just that people were more friendly about it.OtukaOutpost wrote: Now it seems like the whole scene has been taken over by little kids and is overrun with perversion, ignorance, arrogance, and immaturity.
Am I the only one getting sick of the AMV scene?

However, the only people need react to it are those who have guilt upon themselves and actually consider themselves one of the people I am referring to in that generalization. At the time, I mentioned no one person, and I continue to treat everyone who posts on this topic with a great deal of respect and courtesy for their arguments.

Well SpPanda would still be here if Phade didn't have a VISIBLE bias toward the side of the inviso mods since he knows them in real life. But that aside, I agree with everything you've been saying. even back in the days of the spamming, people were still nice to each other there were few flame wars, (if any) and there seemed to be a goofy free spirited atmosphere. Now the boards don't have even that.OtakuOutpost wrote:I don't agree with that. If moderators are stuping to those levels, that's depressing. Banning/suspending a disruptive member, I can understand, but changing his posts to humiliate him is lower than low. Being a moderator comes with a greater responsibility and shouldn't condone behavior like that by taking part in it.CaTaClYsM wrote:There were suddenly new mods. These newe mods banned SpPanda. But in all honesty, he kind of left because he wanted to, the mods went and edited his threads to say stuff like "Sex with mommy=WIN!" or "I eat penis!" stuff like that.
I'd have left too. That just ain't cool.
As for the review, I'm sorry it pissed him off. People need to understand that not everyone is going to like what you do when you make art. You'll get feedback that you have to learn to deal with on an emotional level. It comes with the territory of making AMVs and then posting them here to get reviews. Also, if I hadn't reviewed his vid and upset him, he probably wouldn't have reviewed mine in return. Some good came from it.

So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

And about common courtesy, ther is a rule saying that you will be courteous at all times, bet hell, everyone breaks it these days.

Brilliant idea, Lyrs.
Now get us tickets, OtakuOutpost. Now!
Oh wait... some people are done with break already.

how about you buy us all a ticket to your house or something, plan a party and we'll all get together over springbreak and hang out?

Now there's a great idea, but the logistics and the financing behind such a venture don't exist.
I wouldn't be opposed to a neutral site though...
How does Marti Gras (New Orleans), Burning Man (In the middle of the Nevada Desert), or the Summer Solstis party (Anchorage, Alaska) sound?
Of course, you'd all have to find your own ride out there, but hey, they are all one heck of a party.

I'd have to skip that one, despite the friends I've made, I know that Jace and NDW with a little help from fyrt are going to meet, plan, and kill me.
