Ya know, I think everyone's making too much outta this. So they changed the names on the menu. Yeah, it's stupid. It's also mostly harmless. Wasted a little time (and since when are we surprised at the gov doing that?) to make an absurdly silly political statement, thumbing their nose at someone who's been pissing them off for weeks. At most, I think this warrants a roll of the eyes and ignoring it.

Hell, it's not half as silly as some of the stuff the protesters have been doing. "OK, you're against the war. OK you're naked. I'm....not really seeing the connection here."

As for France, I've got nothing against the French people outside of their continuously downward spiral of attitude toward American citizens for no real reason. (As reflected in polls.) The French POLITICAL system, however....

Let's put it this way. Turkey has been pretty much against the US move to war right from the very start, mostly as they're a neighboring country. Despite their opposition, however, the US was on -their- side when they petitioned the UN for additional troops to defend their borders against retalitory invasions from Iraqi troops. They didn't like us, but we still moved to help them.

When the 22 nations signed that letter of support for the US action, a lot of those nations were ex-Soviet block nations who were petitioning to get into the European Union. The votes for several of those nations are coming up pretty quick now, and France controls a good deal of power over those votes. The French president Chirac, in response to the presidents of those nations signing the letter of support to the US, told the petitioning nations that "They had missed an excellent opportunity to remain silent."

In other words: "Shut the F**K up or you're not getting into the EU."

In the international scene, Bush may be pissed off at France (Germany is in such a chaos of collapsing economy and imploding politics that it's hard to blame them for clinging to a richer neighbor...that's why the "hamburger" won't be going back to the "liberty steak" any time soon), but he's never tried to suppress them speaking their mind. He's just said that they're wrong. (Over and over again.)

j/king, like Wagner said, who cares. Let them do what they want, cause that's what they're gonna do. I'm gonna have as much fun with it as I can. Hopefully I can find some people who actually think this is a good idea and support it, so I can then piss them off by using french references non-stop.

Oy vey, i'm tired of hearing about Mr. Bush wanting to go play with his toys in the sand. I still can't believe Gov. Bush (Yes Govener Bush to until he wins an actual election.-_\\ ) is still wanting to have a war with iraq. Alot of people say it's all about money, well tax the catholic church i say! you could wipe out the nation debt on just thier realesate holdings alone! ~BTW, i have nothing really grievious against the catholic religion, i just felt they needed another good poking at. ^^ ~

well cain, your right, if theres one thing the catholic church is good at it's ammasing disgusting amounts of valuables, be it relestate, money, or jstu old artifacts. But i honestly think that there was some major fuck up somewehre in early human history, and i side with Bill Hicks in this one ... We fucked up large, and along time ago too ... a great suggestion would be to clean out the human race and let evolution have another shot at the drawing board, i dont think it could get that much worse then it is right now could it?

And as for the freedom toast/fries ... well i'm canadian, we jsut laugh at that, but i'd walk in to a resteraunt and call them french fries, not out of defiance, but just because i don't care.

And to harp on one race/country/ethnic group/nation is just wrong ... it' sliek a turd pointing to a turd saying "you smell!" Full Metal Jacket sums this up for me .... "i don't belive in discriminating against you because of your color, in my eyes your all equally useless!" ok, thats my 2 cents ...

wait no it isn't ... theoreticaly the best form of government would probably be Marxian Communism ... but, unfortunaly people have a habbit if taking something good and just fucking the shit out of it. The reason why democracy ahppens to work better is becuase it's just a little harder to screw the masses over with. Any form of comunism has always been practiced in the same manner as facism. And no, democracy is not better, you think you ahve power, but you ahve nothing, and it takes an unreasonable long time for teh government to do any thing, let alon do any thing right ... just look at your fine neigbors north of the border (that would be Canada) it takes a phenominal amount of time to get any thing done, and when some thing is done, it's usualy a half assed solution. sigh ... too bad we humans have to be such stupid self centered egotistic animals ... oh well
