X-Japan is *the* band. Anything by them is great, but I'd check out these to start:

X
Art Of Life
Endless Rain
Forever Love
Tears
Dahlia
Scars
Silent Jealousy
Orgasm (personal favorite, the live version *14 minutes long* is the greatest ever!)
Kurenai

see you space cowboys.

Malice Mizer rocks hard, as does Gackt, their one-time singer who has left the band for a solo career.

hide, the guitarist from X Japan has EXCELLENT solo stuff. Shame the guy died

Um...GLAY is very good, some consider it Jrock...I do. Also, there's this group called Duel Jewel. They're very very good.

Can't reccomend specific songs. Download all of them. They're all great

Lostage, Ghost, Acid Mother Temple, Overhang Party, Cosmic Invention, Holstein, Winter Streamline, Cocoon Pit, Tar 23, Cutgrass all come highly recommended by me.
