Has anyone else seen this? It's a 3 minute short-piece where Chiyo gets a video camera, and Tomo takes it and starts playing with it. Differnt drawing style from the series, seems more video game-ish. I found it floating around while searching for more Azumanga Daioh eps, and I thought it was rather cute, and I thought I'd see who else has seen it.

Well, it was an AVI for me, and looked too good to be a flash cartoon.

Yeah it's a pretty good advertising method.
Make a series that everyone will love, then make a special designed to be freely shared* over the internet to get more people interested and eventually to buy the rest of the series.

*OK, I'm not fully sure if that's true... meh

I wouldn't rule it out. There is a possibility that people in the entertainment marketing industry are intelligent enought to NOT FEAR THE INTERNET!

Azumanga Web Daioh was fun

I think it was just a short that they streamed off their website. Kind of like AIC did with Mahou Yuugi 2D (Every episode "aired" on the internet, changing every week.
