Schindlers List on >_> NBC, showed boobies :O
Also on PBS, they did the same.
If you watched Kingpin, on NBC... Even the previews had some mexican grabbing his crotch. Oh and Angel or hmm Buffy the Vampire slayer >_> occult overtones.
All of which could be offensive to many.
Much more so then anything they cut out of eva. The thing is CN is for fuckin' kiddies still and parents are retarded.
The cut the word "Damn". Damn is said all the fucking time. Look at a fucking victoria secrets commercial, there's more boobs and cleavage in 30secs then in the entire eva series. >_>
The butchered it good and they had no REASON TO. 'Cept they were pandering to a bunch of shitheads.

Showing it in the afternoon was a stupid idea, if it had been moved to Adult Swim then there should be no need for editing. In the UK Sci-fi showed Eva on Saturday morning with very few edits and an uncut version Friday night. The BBFC have not rated any episode of Eva higher than a 12 rating with the films getting a 15, nothing was requested to be cut.

That scene has to been the most ridicolous to be cut. Just because Akito was slapped by his father they cut it out.

Heh, and for all the people who are complaining about Eva, doesn't it seem ironic that they would leave in the part about Shinji and Gendo completely not getting along while the Akito segment got cut? If anything I would find that getting the cold shoulder treatment from a parent more offensive than getting a disciplinary slap from a parent.

I dunno whats so surprising about that, CN's rating system dosent allow for any abuse to children. Shinji crying wouldnt be considered outward child abuse, slapping would.KLin wrote:Heh, and for all the people who are complaining about Eva, doesn't it seem ironic that they would leave in the part about Shinji and Gendo completely not getting along while the Akito segment got cut? That slap isn't even abusive, it's just a disciplinary action. Whereas Gendo basically just abandons Shinji completely. Evangelion is way more abusive towards it's children than any other series. Nadesico doesn't even come close. Even Gundam Wing had more child abuse in it than Nadesico and that got shown on Cartoon Network. Even the Endless Waltz movie got shown on CN and that had a child-slapping scene in it. Yeah, anyways I was also majorly cheesed how the ended Nadesico at like episode 25. They added and took away so many characters without any sort of explanation about them at all and end it with a cliff-hanger. At least Dai-guard probably won't need much editing except for fitting it into the timeslot, thankfully. Or is bowling over a bunch of kids with Dai-guard's exhaust system considered child abuse too? Sheesh.
