Any older times anime?

Post by Bushido Philosopher » Wed Feb 26, 2003 12:56 am

Anyone know any anime that takes place around the Japanese feudal times? Like maybe the Meiji era give or take a few centuries?

The only one that I can think of is Kenshin....

So if you know any at all then please post.

on a stretch .... just for the shear samuri'ness .. ninja scroll ... hrm ... and not only the kenshin series .. but OVA's as well .... anybody else wanna add to my pathetic list?
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

Wrath of the Ninja (this is a re-package of an older OVA called Yotoden)
Curse of the Undead (Yoma)
Ninja Resurrection

All of these should be considered R-rated for violence and gore (typical Japanese sword-fighting material).

Ninja Cadets! Has that feudal feel to it. The plot is based around a group of ninja that were born out of the ashes of a clan that got wiped out after all.

Inuyasha pissed me off. The later portion of season 1 and all of 2 were okay; but that first episode was such a rip. A couple years back I saw that, and I was all like: "Fushigi Yugi? Yep, Fushigi Yugi! Fushigi Yugi all the way." While Inuyasha didn't turn out to be such a Soap Opera it was still a total rip.
