seemed that way too .. and did everyone else noticed the screen .. jigged ... or moved right before a scene change? like to the effect of something hitting the projecter ever so slightly in a theatre .... not enough to be tottally weird .. but just a little .. 2 of my freind's noticed this too . so its not jsut my tv.RadicalEd0 wrote:actually yeah it looked almost dark and grey to me.. like the contrast was too low

I really don't know of many animes that could be considered "art", they are movies. It was edited (just like any other movie) because:FATTY_VM wrote:that is the last ep they are going to show right? .. because .. i dont like how they just cut shit out .... if an anime is too "rough" to show .. dont show it .. you dont see them cutting off the sculpture of david's penis .... same idea ..a rt is what another percieves as a work .... it should not be censored for the sake of mindless youngsters just to get a 20 minute fix of their tv viewing
1. Time constraint, all movies aired on TV (not pay-per view/HBO, just basic cable) are edited to fit in commercials.
2. Violence/Gore-When they played silence of the lambs on TV it seemed to be rather liberally edited >_>
3. Sexuallity/Nudity-Well....yeah, they don't exactlly show a whole lot for any movie when it's put on TV
I suggest people quit bitching about the editing because it was edited just like any movie would be. Just because you love it "Oh, so much" doesn't mean it shouldn't be edited like other movies are. The only editing that anyone should ever complain about is when the storyline/plot are altered by the edits, and I don't think cutting out some parts of the Eva going berserk and clevage alters the story.
And even if you consider it "art", TV is not the broadcast medium in which you can show all aspects of art. Art isn't edited if it is on TV and shows to much nudity/violence, it is just left out. How many times have you seen the statue "David" on TV where the shot wasn't from the waist up? If you want art, go to a museum, a film fest, or some venue other than TV.

I caught most of it this week. CN's editors seem to have trouble deciding what to cut as well. In the Nadesico Episode they showed today (2/25/2003) They didn't cut out the part where Akito accidentally looks up Megumi's dress. But they did cut out the part where young Akito gets slapped by his father. There wasn't any sexual innuendo, violence, or swearing. Heck there wasn't even any dialogue really during that segment. I have no clue why it was cut out at all. Seemed totally random to me. It's weird though that they would skip all the way to this episode right after episode one and have Ryoko, Hikaru, and Izumi suddenly appear and Gai mysteriously dissapear without some sort of explanation in-between.

I can't agree with you Cn is a cable channel. Cable channels are not held to the same strict standards network channels are(Although they usually do anyway) Editing out the perverted stuff out of anime basically kills the anime. Kids see way worse in movies that air on hbo even regular tv. I think all standards should be dropped especially about violence this is not the 1890s it's time to grow up.
