I last saw this movie a year or two ago, but from I can remember I don't think it was anti-American. But it was just a good movie, and the aunt wasn't all that bad (although I did not completely agree with her), and the kids were somewhat spoiled and stubborn (aggravating-ness). Otherwise, it was a pretty good movie. And to be honest, it was one of two movies to ever make me cry. ^^;;

bravo! look people it's war told from the japanese perspective for once. did it imply that america was evil? no, at least no more than how both sides acted during war. we were both just at war doing what we humans do best, destroy, maim, and kill. if you call this anti-american, does that mean every war movie made by america is basically anti-german, japanese, vietnamese, korean, british, god the list goes on so who cares.

this is a sad film for me, it almost made me cry. i hated the aunt only in the way she treated the little girl. was it wrong for her to tell the older brother to get a job, not really i mean she can't carry him on forever. so i guess i agree with Oni on that note. and his pride was a pretty big problem, and in parts his laziness but in the end all it is is a realistic depiction of what happens during war. it's worth watching. Sayonara.

Nope we didn't start is so everything we did was just compensation for Pearl harbor. As long as the movie is pro american I don't care who's ass we are kicking. I liked the little girl she was pretty wackable. I recommend watching this with your gay freind who keeps going on and on about how great it is and when it comes to a part where he is in tears be laughing your ass.
