Are there any links that work? I'd like to download an AMV, but seriously, no links work. Although this may be old news to most of you, maybe you can tell me why that is.

There are links that work, but there's more that don't. Hosting costs money, and a lot of people aren't willing to shell out the dough for it. There's also issues of space and number of videos on a server.

To make your life easier when you're in the Super Search, you should click on the Download pulldown, and select 'downloadable', or if you want to be really picky 'direct download'. That should clean out videos that don't aren't downloadable (though there are exceptions to this).

As for your question, the truth is, its hard to find and maintain good hosting for amvs without having lots and lots of spare $$$. Video's are large files that get downloaded A LOT. This makes for a RIDICULOUS amount of bandwith, which a lot of hosts won't tolerate. If you want EVERY link on the site to work then I strongly suggest you DONATE to that little thing called the GOLDEN DONUT, which will eventually provide free hosting for all.

I found a great deal. It's 100mb 2gb/mo. $5/mo.They give you very nice service too.

Anyone who can afford internet access can afford an extra $5 per month. They also have 200mb 5gb/mo. $15/mo.

...Of course, you'll also have to pay $25/year to have your domain registered.

That's way too little bandwith. One video usually takes about 20 gigz a month. When they're first released they can take up as much as 2 gigz in a single day.
