Heroine-villain romance anime question

Post by Madzack » Sat Jan 25, 2003 4:28 pm

Aren't there any anime where main anime heroine ends up falling in love with main villain?

If not, how come there's not much anime with such a plot?

I think Master of Mosquiton is like that. Well, I'm not sure if the guy is a villain, but he is a vampire.

Well it's kinda lame to say it, but Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was sort of like that. Except that... well, no. But you know what I mean. Clara's response made me think of it. He's not really a villain, but he is a vampire and they think he's a villain. And he is, sort of.

I believe Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z have. You could argue Cowboy Bebop does. Gundam 0083 has it as a part of the backstory. But usually those villians would have or will later on become heros. It makes their 'alignment' rather unclear. So it's actually not that uncommon of an idea. But as for reasons as to why not to use it too often, it is likely because if it was used it would make the villians seem less villianous on some level or another. Showing that they have a side that can be loved. The same goes for the reverse. (Heros falling in love with villianesses like in Violinist of Hameln) Thus, unless the producers of the anime want the alignment of the 'villian' characters to be unclear, they probably won't implement a plot element like that.

Wow, that would be mind bending... I can't really think of an anime where that has fully happened. I know of pity, sorrow, and envy between the two characters, but not really love. Though that would be something to see.

I don't know about Gundam 0083. Maybe Bubblegum crisis, with Sylia Stingray and Largo :D
