You can, or at least with XP you can. I have an atari logo for my startup and a transformers logon screen.

Windows 9x:
Just replace logo.sys with a bitmap image.

Windows 2000:

there is a way... if you are using win 98 etc.. in the stystem32 folder there is a file called winlogo.sys, or winlogo.bmp (i think that's the name), it's accully an image for the logout, i don't know the login one (or i've forgotten, i altered mine so long ago, now i run XP). anyway.. just replace that file with your's, but check to make sure you have the right file.. don't want you to ruin your computer..

and if anyone can tell me how to change the windows XP starup it's be great.. i want to mess with that image. hehe
