Just curious about the title of this thread. 480p (DVD-quality) AMVs are no longer allowed? Starting this year? There's no minimum requirements for resolution listed in the rules other than "the better quality video that you send us, the better it will look."

The topic title is an allusion to the fact that we've finally graduated to a software-based playback solution and are no longer limited to presenting AMVs in 480i.

Meanwhile, it's good to see that not only is the AMV Contest is returning to its "post-2006" screening hours from Baltimore, but also that the results show will be taking place in Featured Events as well (allowing for more people to watch it).
