AMVs of The Month {Discussion Thread}

Post by lloyd9988 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 4:54 am

Hi,

I'm just going to spend one day out of a month watching all the AMVs posted in a month and just saying which ones are worth watching.

This is just to help editors get noticed and also, because of the large influx of AMVs, I feel like this would help out others who don't have time to check out EVERY AMV made to at least check out the recommended AMVs of the month.

NOTE: These are just MY personal opinion. This is NOT saying that these are the best or worst or whatever. I'm just trying to help people save time in watching AMVs with everyone having such a busy schedule.

This is really great, but just in case the editors don't see it, could you leave a comment in their threads, too? I bet that would be really appreciated!

Keep in mind, I just skimmed through the AMVs for this month, and picked which ones caught my eye. I'm trying to do this way for this month so I don't lose my nerve tomorrow and that I'll have a personal responsibility to uphold now that I have done my first monthly recommendations.

Next Month will be thought of more carefully since I won't worry about time constraints or attempting to lose my nerve or sleep.

P.S. Kionon and Seasons, I'd like to see if we could do a discord on watching AMVs for a month one day. You two seem to be most active about watching every AMV so far so I'd like to watch the AMVs with you two so my opinion on a must-watch isn't biased on my opinion alone. And, maybe, we can have others also join in on the discord and discuss as well if this grows or not.

Sure, I'll leave a comment that says 'you were featured in the August Edition for Monthly AMVs'.

Does that sound okay, or does that sound too pretentious?

I really liked most of the AMVs honestly, but I'm just trying to keep up my nerve right now to commit to this September 20th. That's why I did the quick recommendations for this month but I can comment something more meaningful tomorrow.

We used to do that in the AMV Highlights section of AMV Monthly, but keeping up with creating a newsletter each month was a lot of nonstop work. If you wanted to do a AMV of the Month post, I can create a locked thread that only you have permission to post in, and then have that sticked/ pinned to the top. I can also give your account a few elevated permissions in exchange

Yeah I saw that AMV Monthly and I saw the amount of work that went into it and my first reaction was this:

:uhoh: That's a lot of work...

That's why I'm just going to spend one day in a month finding the 'Must Watch' videos. If people want to join in and watch AMVs with me, I'll set up a discord chat later so we can watch AMVs together as long as they didn't submit an AMV in that month.
