Re: AWA 2017 The Video Art Track - Deadline SEP 5

Fascinating fact!

IEEE 802.16 defines "Anywhere on Earth" or AoE, as a designation meaning that a deadline has not passed if, anywhere on earth, the deadline date has not yet passed.

The last place on Earth where any date exists is Howland Island, in the IDLW time zone (UTC minus 12). If Google says it's still September 5 on Howland Island, YOU can still upload your video to our events!

Fascinating Fact #2

Many of our events don't have strict deadlines! You can still upload non-competing videos for the AMV Dance, for F-Bombs for Charity, even competing videos for our Hentai AMV Contest (because Chaotic Bad Raptor are such slackers.) Also, if you're running a panel and want to show a video (that wasn't submitted as a contest entry), you can make sure we have it by uploading it "for a panel"!

Oh, and of course, Thunderdome registration is still open. We'll have two, maybe even 3 editing machines, so lots of time to get your one hour of editing in. http://thunderdome.videoarttrack.com/

Have fun getting those last minute tweaks done today. Howland Island thanks you.

Guess who's going to be submitting at 11:59pm IDLW, then! :bzz:

Hopefully not that late… but maybe… :ying:

*screams incoherently at the render progress bar*

Well, the three Thunderdome machines are built. Only had enough RAM to fully populate two machines... the third has half the RAM and will serve as a utility / record-keeping / doodling / spare.

This means we can have two editors in the bay at any given time, making it even easier for you to find that one hour to come on in and work on your team's project.

200 submissions so far!
Keep 'em coming, it's not even 2PM on Howland Island yet.

And I just found this site that disagrees with Google and the whole Howland Island thing. It says it's only 11:51am AoE right now!
https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/aoe

That would give you until 8am Eastern Daylight Time to get your upload form submitted. Coincidentally, that's when I usually wake up every morning.

It's almost like I planned it this way.

Total, including any reason anyone sent me anything via the submission site. So this would also include re-uploads. It's just a raw count.
