...last I checked, AOL owns ICQ. By the way, I have ICQ, but I don't use it anymore. I'm on AIM more often than MSN and ICQ.Jace Tsunami wrote:easy to fix, fuck aol. Get ICQ and you get a number. you can go by what ever fucking name you want. You nmber is how you'll be recognized, but in chats and on other peoples buddy lists they'll see what ever name you want there. ICQ is THE instant messenger. It's got everything you'll ever need, the options are way better, and it doens't have stupid beeping everytime you send or receive a message. It only beeps if your screen is minimized, not while your chatting. Some people say it's too complex and confusing, well so is life. Get over it, learn to use the damn program, and you'll love yuorself for it, BECAUSE AIM SUCKS

it doesn't matter that aol owns icq, I've never even used aol so I don't care. my beef is with aim, that stupid messenger. Even if aol ows icq, icq is still completly untampered with. It's the same program it was before aol bought them.
And fryt, I'm pretty damn sure you can't turn the beeps off, but if you can, mind telling me how? I mean not to sound like a cunt here or anything, but me along with other people I know have tryed to turn it off hours at a time, not ONE of us were succesfull. the only way we found how to do it was called, unplugging the speakers.

WHOAH!! thanks dude. but seriously, we all tryed like 3 years ago or something. Guess it's an option they added as they upgraded, never really thought to check back on it. Guess that's our fault really. ICQ is stilla load better though. The aim security sucks, once some one gets a hold of your sn that you don't want to have it, your fucked. ICQ sends you a message discretley, where you don't even have to click on it if you don't want to, then when you open it gives you all sorts of options abouthe person trying to contact you, like how much you want to restrict them. In aim, if you say only people in your list, you get no message at all about outside people trying to contact you, if you say confirm first that big grey box pops up out of no where. If you just block some one it's as easy as making a new screen name.

AOL owns ICQ. They pretty much messed it up. And I hate aol if it was not for the fact that most people use AIM I would have noughting to do with aol. person I think aol should did die. I used to have ICQ but never really got used to it and most of my friends did not uses it. Then AOL got ICQ.....KhayotiK wrote:MSN is the way to go. I have both AIM and ICQ on my comp, but MSN is pretty much the only one I use. AIM is just to bothersome to waste my time with, (filled with children of all mentalities) and ICQ just never clicked with me. I can use it fine, I just don't find people of my interest on it. Then again I'm pretty brain damaged.
