That's correct, and I'm pretty sure AnimeNEXT's contest never offered such an award under ReligionX or MeriC/VegettoEX either.

that is so interesting... would you care to explain why it's not offered? I'm not offended or anything, it's just unusual and I'd love to hear the reasoning.

I can't speak for the previous coordinators; but as for myself, if you have audience-voted category awards and an audience-voted Best In Show as well, it just seems redundant. I say that because, in all my years of paying attention to these contests, I have only ever heard of one contest having such a setup where the Best In Show winner was not a comedy (unfortunately I don't remember which one, but I'm pretty sure the winning video in that case was a drama).


On a different note, I'd be remiss not to mention how good the Masquerade audience was for the showing of the winners: there wasn't a video they didn't go crazy over. I actually remarked to the former A/V Tech head who was next to me, "They don't usually cheer like that for a drama winner."
