How you got into AMVs:
Back in 2005 when I was in college, a friend of mine who goes by the screen name Malakalam showed me a few AMVs. This was around the time that he and some of the other members of the anime club were planning to go to Katsucon. While talking with my friend he mentioned AMV contests and gave me a song that matched an AMV idea that I came up with during that conversation. Even though I was not going to be able to attend Katsucon, I decided to make the video and send it in. Since I had done video editing before I was able to sit down and editing the video that afternoon. After that I started a video but never ended up finishing it and it was not until 2009 that I would think about AMVs again.

I don't remember how it happened, but late in 2010 I came across an AMV and thought it might be fun to make another one. My original plan was to make an upbeat video, but while thinking up concepts I came up with the idea for my AMV "Evangelion 0.01 - Shinji is (Not) the Boss" and decided to make it instead. Only really knowing about Katsucon's contest I sent it there and after winning I decided I would try out participating in other contests as well.

How you came up with your screen name:
The reason I switched from a former screen name to my current one is way to complicated to get into, but the short version is this; I started using Meatwad in an online community I was involved as a temporary name change and it ended up sticking. I knew that outside of that community I wouldn't be able to use that name since it is the name of a cartoon character so I added l33t before it so that I could have a consistent screen name across other online communities and services.

How you discovered the Org:
The friend who introduced me to AMVs also showed me the Org when I completed my first video.

Tell me about your studio, like how you joined/created it, etc...
After creating the rough cut for my AMV Rough Love I sent a version of it to my friend Malakalam and after watching it he asked for my permission to forward it to an editor friend of his who went by the name snapxynith. After he watching it and passing back some feedback, Malakalam decided to introduce us on an AIM group chat. After talking with snapxynith about possibly working together on a video in the future we decided that we would start a studio. We spent about a week going through possible names and designing a logo before setting up the official YouTube channel on February 1, 2011, which we viewed as the final step in making our studio official.

Favorite genre to edit and why:
I really love to edit comedy because I love to make people laugh and smile.

Favorite newbie mistake you've made:
When I created my AMV Rough Love I basically just slapped it together quickly and didn't really listen a lot of feedback or advice I got because I thought others would hate it due to the song choice and felt it would waste of time since I was content with it at that point.

First contest experience:
I participated in a few contests at conventions before actually attending one, so my first contest experience while being there was at Animazement 2010. The contest was a judge's pick type contest as opposed to audience vote and they showed them in a mixed format as opposed to dividing them into categories. The video I sent was Evangelion 0.11 - Shinji is (Not) the Boss and the cool part about this experience was what happened when they announced the winners. Since it was a local con for me at the time I stayed until closing ceremonies where they would announce the AMV winners, and as they announced them they would get the winner to come up to accept the prize if they happened to be there. Spike Spencer (the English voice actor of Shinji in Evangelion) was a guest and when they announced the name of my video he decided to come shake my hand to congratulate me.

Best experience you've had thus far with the community:
My best experiences with the community were both Otakon and AWA this year. Hanging out with editors and enjoying all the AMV events is really fun and this year was the most fun I've had at conventions.

Worst experience with the community:
The worst experience came after a member started harassing me about a situation based on inaccurate second hand gossip.

Why you edit:
It's a fun hobby and I have made many friends in the editing community.

Future goals:
Well, I'd like to win at a few cons I haven't won at yet. Aside from competitions I'd love to finish up my tutorials and get them to that point where I just need to update as things change.

How you got into AMVs:
Well, I've been watching AMVs ever since 2007 (Lol @ 10 year old me unable to tell what on earth he is watching). in 2012 I decided to actually try it after having a huge amount of very amazing videos released that year (yes I used to watch mostly on youtube haha don't take me to jail). I actually made my very 1st AMV in august 8th. it was a Guilty crown video that I was incredibly proud of back in the day. Ahh the nostalgia..

How you came up with your screen name:
The word gabber means liar, I heard it in some poem we were learning about in school, and when I came to make my.. internet name it was the coolest and closest thing to my name (Gabriel)

How you discovered the Org: I really have no idea.. its like.. I always knew it o__o but only decided to actually be active on it few days ago.

Tell me about your studio, like how you joined/created it, etc... (If you're not in a studio, say why :P) Ellines Nakama <3 as I said on my 1st answer. A lot of good videos were released that year. My absolute favorite was made by the leader of Enp which really was the trigger that made me focus on the actual "editing" in AMVs, and made me a huge Ellines Nakama fan ever since. I wasn't that good when I auditioned, but people there were extremely nice and accepted me while also helping me (very very very much) in improving.

Favorite genre to edit and why: Classic (random) RAW action. I just love to see violence I guess (haha). I'm aware it is not a very appreciated style here, i'm also trying different styles from time to time, just to be able to keep up

Favorite newbie mistake you've made: (Give us a good cringe-worthy one!)
How to make a songcut? Ohh I know! Cut the audio track here, make a 5 sec worth of fade out here, and 5 sec worth of fade in there. Vuola~ I'm very certain nobody will ever notice it :)

First contest experience:
Ohh.... I got 3rd !!!!! from the bottom tho... haha...

Best experience you've had thus far with the community:
Not sure what to put here. IC contests I guess. I love these with passion!

Worst experience with the community:
Nah, nothing. I really love everything.

Why you edit: (If you don't edit anymore, explain yo'self!) Simple. To have fun :D

Future goals: (Editing, non-editing, whatevers) well editing wise is to make something "everybody" will enjoy. Life wise it'd be to graduate for now xD school then college.

I remember when I used to be in a studio: we battled Ellines Nakama. Ironically only the leader lost to BlackJack (I dont remember the full name of him) He was ZarakiZervosKenpachi, and considering it was only one of his defeats compared to the wins, while the rest was equal in terms of winning and losing

Also it was the studio when I first met people like the PrincessKairy, or [key]scarlet known here, narutofan2007, gregz (although we met even before the studio, I can say I really started to know him better in it), narutokun645 and many of the youtubers of the 2007-2009 era

How you got into AMVs:
Weeeeell AMVs; long story...7 years ago I had a friend that introduced me to anime. As every noob the first anime I watched was One Piece and a bit of DBZ cause it was airing in the national television and started watching them cause they reminded me of old times that I always wanted to see what happens next. While watching an opening I kinda though what would the anime look like if I add different music there. I was so excited with the idea and was feeling such a "pro" only until I realised(after a year  ) that this was already an existing idea. So 5 years after that when i got my own new PC(dont ask the specs of the previous one) I thought I could give a try to something i wanted since back then...So here i am.

How you came up with your screen name:
I was actually brainstorming for an hour trying to find a cool name and in the end I just decided to name myself after an attack from Senji Kiyomasa, my favourite char from deadman wonderland(Invisible Black) Everything else was added by youtube cause this name already exdisted

How you discovered the Org:
To be honest i was lucky i found org early cause after that i really discovered masterpieces. I stumbled upon 3 amvs that had a download link from the org so in order to download them I had to visit this page. Tell me about your studio, like how you joined/created it, etc...
Well ok Ellines Nakama Productions :ying: . Huge fan since I saw a Zoro tribute and became my goal ever since I started editing. Good thing is that as a greek based studio I got accepted even with a video that i right now think it is absolutely horrible. Anyways a pretty good place for me as I found some real friends that i even met in real life over and over.

Favorite genre to edit and why:
Hmmm although I mostly edit action amvs I always love to try horror or character profile videos. Never got to upload my horror ones cause I want horror to be actually horror and gie the chills to someone, something i have yet to achieve :asd:

Favorite newbie mistake you've made: (Give us a good cringe-worthy one!)
Whenever I think of it I cant laugh enough. TV simulator of vegas together with an overlay with "matrix like numbers and letters".

First contest experience:
First "real" contest experience was Souls Team IC last year. It actually pushed me to my limits to do a full in 72 hours(edited only 10 hours...sssshhhhh!!!!) As you guess i got destroyed in that one...32/38 :ying:

Best experience you've had thus far with the community:
Well many happy moments here. Favourite when I got a feedback comment from the same editor that was my idol even before I first started editing(even though it was a bit harsh at some points I was so happy for him taking the time to write a detailed critique).

Worst experience with the community:
Not actually something special. Just irritation when i see people editing not for the fun of it but only to get recognition by some famous editor.

Why you edit:
Its fun!!!OOOh and a way to take my mind off the all nighters i have to pull for my engineering degree xD

Future goals: (Editing, non-editing, whatevers)
Editing wise I have no special aspirations. Just once in my lifetime I want to place in the first 10 places of a renowned contest(AKROSS,LevelUp or POE). As for irl stuff, i want to finish my master degree next year and work in nVidia as start.

Yeah but this is how a whole community evolved(talking about youtube)...Nowadays the people that are enjoying what are doing there are a really small percentage. The plague has grown like alot.
