I have just loaded up on some killer Blu-Rays and a couple DVDs as prizes.
Fresh series; this is stuff that was just torrenting within the past few months.
And a couple older titles too, and a Senjougahara figurine and another smaller Kos-Mos 4 (Xenosaga)
Schick is still doing the "buy a 5-blade razor, get a mecha figurine or Eva pilot as your razor stand..."
sales campaign, with the most WRONG smile on Gendo Ikari, and Ayanami is all Elektra complex over him:
Asuka has the old Irish Spring thing going: "Manly yes, but I like it too..."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQk-imB1m2k
An Ayanami Rei-zor stand:
This site has the commercials:
http://evangelionbr.wordpress.com/2012/ ... vangelion/
THERE WILL BE A KILLER RETRO PRIZE THIS YEAR ....

And don't forget your chibi-eva key chains:

Not sure how long food will last, but I always liked the freeze dried anime-themed food items they had when I stay in Japan. Angel Beats Curry, Madoka flavored tea bags, etc. Or the usual anime-themed Maid cookies are real nice. You can find them in Gamers or Animate.
Special flavored Kit-Kats are a Japanese cultural novelty, and easy to take a box full back.

I may be able to swing a stop in Shinjuku on the way back to the airport.
Or here at Tokyo Central station:

What, FIFTEEN character-based stores all in a row?

Here is the LOOT I hauled back for this year!
Old and new series!
a. Game advertisement handouts from Akiba. EVERY WINNER GETS
EACH of these (4) PLUS a Kumoricon Convention Swag-bag!
b. Toriko placemat
c. Character design artbooks: Pretty Sammy, Tenchi Muyo,
Aquarian Age, KYMG:3 (Kozaki Yusuke)
d. 2X or 3X PRIZE - Mechanical Illustration Artbook of
1981 vs 2010 Space Battleship Yamato
e. KosMos-4 figurine (Xenosaga) and Hitagi Senjogahara (Bakemonogatari) figurine
f. DVD and Blu-ray media:
Blood-C
Kokurico Saki Kara (From Up on Poppy Hill) OVA
El Cazador de la Bruja
Girls & Panzer (Two prizes! DVD + Blu-Ray box set!)
Haiyore Nyaruko-W
Kenran Buttousai: Mars Daybreak
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Litchi de Hikari Club
Nichijou
Red Data Girl
Rosario to Vampire
Turn-A Gundam 30th Anniv. Commemorative Special
g. Pumpkin Scissors DVD and Character Artbook
h. Bleach pencilboard and notebook
j. Binbougami Postcard sets. We have 2.
k. Japan Self Defense Force Curry pack. We have 4.**
m. AKB48 Manga
n. One Piece manju box. We have 2.**
The line without a letter (missed one!) points to a Toriko furoshiki.
** These are shelf-stable food items which will remain fresh for months. They are now refrigerated for maximum freshness and will be awarded at Kumoricon or shipped to US winners. (I don't want tor try to get food item through international customs.)
The convention usually hands me MORE media so there will be even MORE prises to choose from!!

Yes you can! We have not yet run a "Horror" category (but I am likely to try one sometime soon...)BecauseImBored1 wrote:How gory can a vid be? aka can i submit this

For this year it could run in 'Intensity' for its pacing and solid, driving, music. Your competition in 'Intensity' would be other works that are just as intense, but may tell a more clear, engaging, and cogent storyline: such as where the viewer gets to really meet an 'A' then a 'B' in opposition to 'A' and we understand why 'A' and 'B' are out there kicking ass or wrecking half of Tokyo in their mecha, and we really WANT one of them to WIN, and we want to feel GOOD when the other guy FAILS. Add a countdown timer to save the world ....
And there are also other strategies for making an AMV intense and you would competing against those other formats and story structures as well...
We can easily handle some blood splatters here and there; while I do not participate in the judges' panel, and they are a different gang each year, the last time the blood-n-gore questions came up they either (a) drew the line at when identifiable bits of organs or guts are clearly depicted, (what, Elfin Lied?) and some members were a bit squeamish about eye trauma (darts, daggers, syringes, etc,) but also (b) blades are as culturally significant to Japan as are firearms in the US, and the long history of chanbara, jidaigekki, and general martial arts flicks have had some previous panels make allowance for dismemberment and decapitations, especially in matters of justice or corporal or capital sentences. You can lop a traitor's head off, especially if your AMV story sets things up so that the audience loves it because he or she damn well deserved it.
I would be happy to throw this at the judges next month if you want to send me a d/l link.
Be sure to include all the other information (music, etc.)
Your ONE f-bomb at the end is permissible, too.
